1. Surveys & Analysis
COMAC undertakes surveys and analysis on building technologies
and materials available locally in a particular region to
determine the most appropriate and cost-effective technologies
to use.
2. Advisory and Consulting Services
After the analysis, COMAC advises the Client on the most
Appropriate Building, Water & Sanitation Technologies
to use, in terms of costs, raw materials and skills locally
available. COMAC helps Clients in designing basic building
plans and preparing of Bill of Quantities to help the Client
reach an informed decision, having considered every cost aspect
3. Capacity Building & Technology Transfer
COMAC trains local Technicians, Artisans, Building Contractors,
Youth and Women groups in production and building with such
technologies. COMAC helps in building capacities of local
communities through training programs in executing the project
at hand so that there is sustainable use of technologies introduced,
after COMAC’s departure. This way, COMAC helps such
groups or individuals with entrepreneurial skills establish
businesses, creating employment.
4. Project Management
COMAC implements projects by undertaking “On-site Construction
Management” for projects such as Housing Estates Development,
Institutional buildings such as Schools, Hospitals and other
public institutions using Appropriate Technologies. This includes
on site production of building materials and general construction.
In managing such projects, COMAC works with local people,
training them in the new skills.
